Mountain was nominated in the 2014 Game Awards in the category “Games for Change”.  Don’t let yourself be fooled however: It is not a game that can be played. Mountain is a zero player game; an animated wallpaper.

You are born a Mountain, floating through space. You experience the turning of time and seasons. Things crash into you on occation. And you ponder on your existence. You can, to a very limited extent, affect what happens on-screen, but this doesn’t extend beyond different animations.

The ambient music (mostly wind or rain) is atmospheric, the imagery is pretty, and you can play tunes using your keyboard.

I can’t say I regret buying it because I had some fun with it and it was only 66c on Steam, but it’s not something I would recommend anyone buying.
